Dr Ben
Dr Ben founded Sunset Pets in 2024 after working in emergency settings and feeling that the community deserved a dedicated peaceful in-home euthanasia service. Ben grew up in North Queensland and served in the military for 12 years before retraining in Veterinary science at JCU in Townsville.

Dr Dhash
Dr Dhash is our most experienced veterinarian, with additional qualifications in fear-free practice. After completing training in Western Australia, Dhash has worked extensively through North Queensland, developing a love and passion for our native fauna, and has just passed his membership exams in wildlife veterinary practice. In addition to clinical work Dhash works as a lecturer at JCU and is Townsville’s beloved '‘turtle vet’.

Dr Rhys is a dedicated local vet, completing his training and internship alongside Dr Ben at JCU. Like Dr Ben, Dr Rhys also came to his calling later in life, after working in various industries across the Northern Territory and New Zealand. Dr Rhys brings so much to our team and community, his huge heart, warm and down to earth nature.

Dr Paris is a dedicated local vet with a special interest in exotics. Having completed her studies at JCU alongside Dr Ben and Dr Rhys, our close-knit team are always discussing ways to improve our skills and practices. Dr Paris has a background in science and teaching, is an avid reader, and loves nothing more than spending time with her family.

Dr Crystal is a dedicated local vet, having grown up locally and completing her training at JCU.

Chloe is one of the kind, calm and reassuring voices you will hear when you call Sunset Pets, answering any questions you may have and talking you through what to expect. Chloe has been driven to this work by wanting to support people in their grief, by being a gentle hand to support you in an immensely sensitive and vulnerable time. Chloe also works across digital health, and cherishes spending time with her young family, sailing and reading.

Laura is one of the warm, calm and gentle voices you will hear when you call Sunset Pets. Founding Sunset Pets with her husband Ben in 2024, Laura works in Public Health through north and western Queensland and cherishes her role in supporting families find peace and comfort in our care.
